I’ve been in Boras for three days… Still try to adapt with the different environment. Snow is everywhere…!! White I got a very nice room in an apartment… Have a nice lectures, friends, school… But everything is so different! How, for example, the car will give you a way if you want to cross the road.

Salmon-Caviar Le Bernardin, New York I don’t take my birthday too seriously. All I ask for is a very good meal (or a few) shared with good friends. For the past few years, I’ve made it a point to celebrate my birthday away from home. I’ve had a strong bias for New York, which has been the situs of three of my last four birthday dinners. In 2006, I celebrated at per se with my friends Myrtle and Winston; in 2007 at Eleven Madison Park with my good friend Hue; and in 2008, for my thirtieth, my friends Paper Hat Boy, You-Me, Kramer, and Handel flew from New York to meet my friends Traveler Ho and The Diva and me at Vie and Avenues in Chicago. In 2009, I decided to co-celebrate my birthday with my good friend Houston, whose birthday is a week after mine. She had never been to New York and I felt the need to correct that egregious deficit in her life.

I’m on my way to the airport to pick up my friends coming in from Paris. I am reciprocating for their kindness and generosity this past summer (when I stayed in their home)

I’ve got Christmas songs in my head. Mostly on repeat. I don’t love this but it is what it is. I can’t ever sing enough of the 12 Days of Christmas to know how many maids are milking and how many drummers are drumming but what’s a girl supposed to do after a night flight across the Atlantic Ocean with minimal sleep

Two more days of work until our winter break (until Jan. 4), three more days until Christmas, seven more days until we spend a night at an indoor waterpark (and visit my mom who’s in a nursing home in the same town), and 15 more days until Absent Minded Professor, Energy Boy, and I are in FLORIDA!! Yay!!
